first week in my host family

YFU hat endlich eine Gastfamilie für mich gefunden. Am Dienstagmorgen (24.09) kam ein Anruf, dass sie endlich eine Gastfamilie gefunden haben für mich. Ich war sehr glücklich. Ich dachte, dass ich in den Norden von Québec komme, in die gleiche Stadt, in welcher Lisa auch ist. Doch sie haben für mich eine andere Gastfamilie in Ontario gefunden. Damit hatte ich gar nicht gerechnet. Anscheinend hatte es mit der Familie im Norden von Québec nicht geklappt. Zuerst war ich ein wenig enttäuscht, dass ich nicht in die gleiche Stadt komme wie Lisa. Doch die Gastfamilie tönte sehr toll. Sie passt perfekt zu mir, da meine kleine Gastschwester auch reitet und die Familie einen Hund hat.

Ich habe eine Gastmutter, einen Gastvater und drei Gastschwestern. Meine Gastschwestern sind 15, 14 und 10. Die Familie hat einen Hund (Golden Retriever). Sie wohnen in einem grossen Haus mit einem riesigen Garten. Das Haus ist in einem kleinen Dorf und eine grössere Stadt ist in 15min. zu erreichen.

Um 11:00 ging es am Donnerstag (26.09) los. 11Stunden mit dem Zug, von Québec zurück nach Ontario. Es war etwas stressig, da mein Koffer zu schwer war und man nicht draufzahlen darf. Also musste ich meine Winterjacke rausnehmen und diese um den Bauch binden. Die Leute, die mich gesehen haben, hatten sich sicher gedacht, ich komme aus dem hohen Norden...Um 22:30 bin ich bei meiner Gastfamilie angekommen. Meine Gastfamilie hat mich sehr herzlich empfangen und wir sind direkt nachhause gefahren. Zuerst zeigten sie mir das Haus und mein Zimmer. Mein Zimmer gefällt mir sehr gut. Danach redete ich noch mit meinen Gastschwester und ging ins Bett. Am Freitag hatten meine Gastschwestern frei und sie zeigten mir ihr kleines Dorf. Wir liefen zu einem kleinen Laden und kauften ein Eis. Ausserdem kamen zwei Freunde von meiner ältesten Gastschwester mit, die an die gleiche Schule gehen wie ich (meine Gastschwestern gehen an eine andere Schule). Am Freitagabend ging es für mich zum ersten Mal in die USA. Zuerst gingen wir einen Burger essen und danach zu einem Ice-Hockey Game, was ich sehr toll fand. Am Samstag gingen wir in einige Museen in einer Stadt, da Tag der offenen Tür war. Am Sonntag gingen wir zu einem Apfel/Kürbissfest mit meiner kleinen Gastschwester und meiner Gastmutter. An diesem Fest gab es sooo gute Apfeldonuts!!! Ausserdem konnte man Äpfel, Kürbisse und Herbstdekoration kaufen.

Die restlichen Tage durfte ich endlich in die Schule, worüber ich in einem anderen Beitrag berichten werde.

Ich fühle mich sehr wohl in meiner Gastfamilie und habe mich auch schon gut eingelebt.

My first week in my host family

YFU found finally a host family for me. On tuesday morning (24.09) I got the call. I was very happy. I thought, that I would go in the north of Québec, in the city, in which Lisa is. But they found another family in Ontario. I didn't think this. Apperently, it didn't work out with the family in the north of Québec. At first, I was a little bit sad, that I wouldn't be in the same city as Lisa. But the family sounded great.

I have a host mother, host father and 3 host sisters. My host sisters are 15,14 and 10. The family have dog. They live in a big house and I have an own room. The house is in a small village and a citiy is 15.min. away.

My trip started on 11:00 on thursday. 11h travel by train. It was a little bit stressful because my suitcase was to heavy and I wasn't allowed to pay for this, so I had to take out my winterjacket and had to tie around my belly. I think that the other people thought, that I'm from the high nort. Anyway, at 22:30 I arrived by my host family. We drove at home and they showed me the house and my room, which I really like. After this, my host sisters and I talked and then I went to bed. On friday my host siters had a free day, so they showed my her little village and we went to a small supermarket and ate an ice cream. Also, two friends of my host sisters came with us, because they go in to same school as I (my host sisters go on another). On friday night it was the first time I was in the USA. At first we ate a burger and then we watched a hockey game. I liked it. On saturday we went in to different museums in a city, because there was open day for the museums. On sunday I went with my littlest host sister, the 14old host sister and my host mother to an apple/pumpkin festival. We ate so good apple donuts. You could buy there apples, pumpkins and fall decoration.

And on the other days, I went to school. But about this, I'll write more in another post.

I'm feeling very comfortable in my host family and I like they.
